Regular grading's in many local area's

No need to travel far for your grading. We grade in many of our area's that we teach in throughout the South.

For example, if you lived in or near to Brighton, then we have grading's in Brighton as well as in Portslade and Shoreham etc.

Regular competition's in many local area's

Again no need to travel long distances to take part in a competition. SAMA holds competition's annually

in Brighton, Portslade, Steyning, Henfeild, Eastbourne, Worthing as well as in many other places in the South.

In that we have no affiliations, making us a pure pedigree martial arts group

Therefore we are not diluted or weakened by others, thus keeping our high standards that we have become renown for.

Many clubs expect student's to travel long distances

to competitions, and spend a fortune in doing so

WE DON'T!

SAMA competitions are held in many of the local area's that we teach in

Many students waste a lot of time, effort and money traveling long distances to competitions,

and to be truthful it usually result's in many of them winning absolutely nothing.

Many clubs only pick selected children to represent them

WE DON'T!

We say, all SAMA KARATE KIDS are winners

We believe that every child should have the same opportunity as others to compete

Most competitions are very expensive to enter

OUR'S AREN'T!

SAMA competition's are very affordable!

Costs vary from around £5.00 to enter 3 sections, giving kids a chance to win up to 2 trophies and a medal.

Spectators cost around £1.50 for adults and 0.50p for children.

Giving all SAMA children the opportunity to compete and their parents to go and watch them

The money we make from our competitions goes back into our community,

i.e.; local children's hospital, children's charities and to help our local schools

and not into the pocket of some promoter up north!

However we do not stop our members entering outside competitions.

Martial Arts Weapon Training at SAMA

OKINAWAN WEAPON TRAINING IS PART OF OUR HIGHER GRADE SYSTEM 

Traditional Okinawan martial art weapons (Kobudo) is incorporated into our adults and children's higher level grade system.

These are nunchaku (flails), (Children use safety foam nunchaku). jo (short staff) and escrima sticks.

Other non grade weapons for higher black belt training that may be taught are bo (long staff) sai (pronged fork),

tonfa, tanto (knife defence) and Kama (sickles)

We only teach our senior students weapons

Our criteria in teaching weapons, especially for children, is to build coordination,

focus, balance, movement skills, as well as increasing stamina and body strength
